Soetanto Leo graduated from IKIP Bandung, majoring in English, in 1985. He did his Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language (Dip. TESL) at Victoria University, New Zealand in 1988. While hi master degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MEd. in TESOL) was gained in 1995 at leeds University, England. He started teaching English at a junior high school in a small remote district named Menjalin, West Kalimantan in 1980s. Leaving the remote district, he moved to Bandung to complete his first degree. Since 1990, he has joid the language center of STP Bandung as a language instructor of English for Hotel, Restaurant, and Travel. In addition, he is also an English language trainer in many hotels. Prior to that, he taught English at SMU 1 Bandung.
