Sejak tahun 1986 Andrias Harefa telah memainkan peranannya sebagai WTS, singkatan Writer, Trainer, and Speaker. Ia telah mulai menulis artikel dan memenangkan sejumlah lomba karya tulis ilmiah sejak masih kuliah di Fakultas Hukum Universtas Gajah Mada, Yogyakarta. Pada saat yang sama, aktivis kelompok studi ini sering diminta memberikan ceramah dan pelatihan untuk kalangan remaja di sejumlah sekolah dan kampus di sekitar Yogyakarta, Magelang, Semarang, Salatiga, dan Solo.

Pindah ke Jakarta Oktober 1989, anak ketiga dari enam bersaudara ini memulai kariernya sebagai Training Consultant Dale Carnegie Training, sebuah lembaga pelatihan bisnis terkemuka di dunia, yang berpusat di New York, Amerika Serikat. Di lembaga ini ia juga memainkan peran sebagai trainer/instruktur pelatihan dan sempat memperoleh lisensi/sertifikasi pelatihan di bidang effective speaking and human relations, sales course-sales advantages, leadership training for managers, the leader in you, employee development course, customer relations course, professional development series. Tidak kurang dari enam penghargaan diterimanya sebagai konsultan berprestasi [Club 250 tahun 1992; dan Diamond Club 4 tahun berturut-turut, 1993-1996] dan instruktur yang kreatif-inovatif [1995]. Untuk memperluas wawasan dan meningkatkan kompetensinya, ia sempat mengikuti sejumlah kursus singkat di Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Bali, Bangkok, Washington DC, Dallas, San Diego, Orlando, Tucson, dan selalu mencari cara untuk belajar lebih jauh.

Sejak September 1998, buku-bukunya mulai diterbitkan oleh Gramedia Pustaka Utama, Penerbit Buku Kompas, dan sejumlah penerbit terkemuka lainnya. Sampai akhir tahun 2004 ia telah melahirkan tidak kurang dari 24 karya tulis dan disebut-sebut sebagai salah satu penulis buku-buku best seller di Indonesia. Harian Kompas, Koran Tempo, Jakarta Post, Majalah Gatra, Femina, Ayah Bunda, Bahana, Manajemen, EKSEKUTIF, dan Warta Bisnis pernah menampilkan sosoknya sebagai penulis buku, fasilitator pelatihan, dan pembicara seminar yang unik dan produktif. Sebagai penulis buku-buku terlaris, namanya disejajarkan dengan Aa Gym [penggagas Manajemen Qalbu], Hermawan Kertajaya [pakar pemasaran terkemuka], Rhenald Kasali [penggagas acara Bedah Bisnis di televisi], dan Anand Krisna.

Sebagai fasilitator pelatihan, ia sudah mencatat lebih dari 15.000 jam terbang. Boleh dikatakan ia adalah salah satu trainer dengan jam terbang terbanyak di negeri ini. Dan disamping memberikan pelatihan di bawah bendera PT Spirit Mahardika [1998 - sekarang], pria berdarah Nias yang lahir di Curup, Bengkulu, ini juga dikenal sebagai pembicara inspirasional. Ia diundang untuk berbicara dalam forum employee gathering, annual conference, regional conference, national convention, rapat kerja perusahaan, dan seminar-seminar nasional yang dihadiri ratusan hingga ribuan orang. Sesekali, mantan presenter acara Book Review di Metro TV [2001] dan Success Story di Q-Channel Indovision [2002] ini juga diminta menjadi dosen tamu di sejumlah kampus terkemuka seperti Uni-versitas Bina Nusantara, Univer-sitas Indonesia, Universitas Sanata Dharma, Universitas Atmajaya, Universitas Surabaya, Universitas Maranatha, Universi-tas Islam Negeri Syarif Hida-yatullah, Universitas Terbuka, dan sebagainya. Seperti buku-bukunya, tema bicara pria kelahiran tahun 1964 ini berkisar di antara learnership, leadership, dan entrepreneurship [pembelajaran, kepemimpinan, dan kewirausahaan].

"Saya ingin membuat orang-orang yang saya temui menjadi manusia-manusia Indonesia yang lebih optimis menatap masa depan negeri ini. Saya ingin mendorong setiap orang untuk berbuat sesuatu, menyumbang talenta dan bakat terbaiknya untuk memaknai Indonesia baru," ujarnya suatu ketika. Itulah sebabnya menyemangati dan memotivasi orang menjadi kompetensi yang terus dikembangkannya secara berkesinambungan. Ia terinspirasi oleh tokoh-tokoh terkemuka seperti Ahmad Wahib, Soe Hoek Gie, Dale Carnegie, Benyamin Franklin, Warren Bennis, Scot Peck, Stephen R. Cita-citanya yang belum tercapai adalah memiliki 10 usaha kecil-menengah yang beroperasi tanpa keterlibatannya secara langsung. Ia pernah merintis sejumlah usaha, dan sebagian kandas di tengah jalan, tersisa tiga usaha yang masih berjalan hingga kini. Disamping itu, penggagas konsep Indonesia School of Life yang ikut membidani lahirnya Palembang School of Life dan memfasilitasi lahirnya Komunitas Pembelajar Mahardika [lihat situs www.pembelajar.com: bangga menjadi anak bangsa dengan cara menjadi kebanggaan bagi bangsa] ini juga berharap diberi kesempatan hidup untuk mewariskan 100 buku kepada generasi penggantinya.

Waktu senggangnya digunakan untuk mengurus RT, bermain pingpong, treadmill, dan mencari donatur pendukung program hibah buku kepada pengajar sekolah. Menikah dengan Restuty Ida Sondang Hutapea, yang menekuni profesi Notaris/PPAT, mereka telah dikaruniai dua anak.

Sejak tahun 1986 Andrias Harefa telah memainkan peranannya sebagai WTS, singkatan Writer, Trainer, and Speaker. Ia telah mulai menulis artikel dan memenangkan sejumlah lomba karya tulis ilmiah sejak masih kuliah di Fakultas Hukum Universtas Gajah Mada, Yogyakarta. Pada saat yang sama, aktivis kelompok studi ini sering diminta memberikan ceramah dan pelatihan untuk kalangan remaja di sejumlah sekolah dan kampus di sekitar Yogyakarta, Magelang, Semarang, Salatiga, dan Solo.

Pindah ke Jakarta Oktober 1989, anak ketiga dari enam bersaudara ini memulai kariernya sebagai Training Consultant Dale Carnegie Training, sebuah lembaga pelatihan bisnis terkemuka di dunia, yang berpusat di New York, Amerika Serikat. Di lembaga ini ia juga memainkan peran sebagai trainer/instruktur pelatihan dan sempat memperoleh lisensi/sertifikasi pelatihan di bidang effective speaking and human relations, sales course-sales advantages, leadership training for managers, the leader in you, employee development course, customer relations course, professional development series. Tidak kurang dari enam penghargaan diterimanya sebagai konsultan berprestasi [Club 250 tahun 1992; dan Diamond Club 4 tahun berturut-turut, 1993-1996] dan instruktur yang kreatif-inovatif [1995]. Untuk memperluas wawasan dan meningkatkan kompetensinya, ia sempat mengikuti sejumlah kursus singkat di Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Bali, Bangkok, Washington DC, Dallas, San Diego, Orlando, Tucson, dan selalu mencari cara untuk belajar lebih jauh.

Sejak September 1998, buku-bukunya mulai diterbitkan oleh Gramedia Pustaka Utama, Penerbit Buku Kompas, dan sejumlah penerbit terkemuka lainnya. Sampai akhir tahun 2004 ia telah melahirkan tidak kurang dari 24 karya tulis dan disebut-sebut sebagai salah satu penulis buku-buku best seller di Indonesia. Harian Kompas, Koran Tempo, Jakarta Post, Majalah Gatra, Femina, Ayah Bunda, Bahana, Manajemen, EKSEKUTIF, dan Warta Bisnis pernah menampilkan sosoknya sebagai penulis buku, fasilitator pelatihan, dan pembicara seminar yang unik dan produktif. Sebagai fasilitator pelatihan, ia sudah mencatat lebih dari 15.000 jam terbang. Boleh dikatakan ia adalah salah satu trainer dengan jam terbang terbanyak di negeri ini. Dan disamping memberikan pelatihan di bawah bendera PT Spirit Mahardika [1998 - sekarang], pria berdarah Nias yang lahir di Curup, Bengkulu, ini juga dikenal sebagai pembicara inspirasional. Seperti buku-bukunya, tema bicara pria kelahiran tahun 1964 ini berkisar di antara learnership, leadership, dan entrepreneurship [pembelajaran, kepemimpinan, dan kewirausahaan].

"Saya ingin membuat orang-orang yang saya temui menjadi manusia-manusia Indonesia yang lebih optimis menatap masa depan negeri ini. Saya ingin mendorong setiap orang untuk berbuat sesuatu, menyumbang talenta dan bakat terbaiknya untuk memaknai Indonesia baru," ujarnya suatu ketika. Itulah sebabnya menyemangati dan memotivasi orang menjadi kompetensi yang terus dikembangkannya secara berkesinambungan. Cita-citanya yang belum tercapai adalah memiliki 10 usaha kecil-menengah yang beroperasi tanpa keterlibatannya secara langsung. Ia pernah merintis sejumlah usaha, dan sebagian kandas di tengah jalan, tersisa tiga usaha yang masih berjalan hingga kini. Waktu senggangnya digunakan untuk mengurus RT, bermain pingpong, treadmill, dan mencari donatur pendukung program hibah buku kepada pengajar sekolah. Menikah dengan Restuty Ida Sondang Hutapea, yang menekuni profesi Notaris/PPAT, mereka telah dikaruniai dua anak.
