Rani is a 16-year-old teenage girl who was born and grew up in Bandung. She started to experience strange things after her parents’ divorce, started when she got lost on a hill without a peak, then she received a visit from an uncle and cousin she had never known existed. She was introduced to Javanese culture and finally found a portal that leads to another world!

Not stopping there, Rani and her cousin, Bima, dared to enter the portal and discovered that the things hidden through the gateway were far from what they had ever imagined about ‘the other world’. In that world they discovered a luxurious metropolis, peculiar creatures and a charming handsome Prince.

Gateway to Nuswantara is the first book of Nuswantara series. This teenage sci-fi adventure book tells a journey of a pair of cousins, Rani and Bima, who incidentally found a portal to a whole new world that apparently had been our neighbor all this time and had been keeping many of Nuswantara history and tradition, especially about Java. This book is also an introduction for readers to dig deeper into their own local culture and to know more about who is the real ancestors of Indonesia nation.
