This is a story about a boy with a big dream. The curious boy loved to read, and books were his best friends. Achieving the big dreamrequired him to be hardworking and persistent. His great love of
reading was important in his journey. The character “Nelson” was written based on the true life story of Professor Nelson Tansu. Nelson—an Indonesian—joined Lehigh University (Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA) as a faculty member at the age of 25, where he is currently the Daniel E. ‘39 and Patricia M. Smith Endowed Chair Professor and Director for Center for Photonics and Nanoelectronics at Lehigh. His expertise are in the areas of Applied Physics and Engineering, in particular related to semiconductors, nanotechnologies, nanoelectronics, and photonics. Up to today (year 2015), he has published more than 105 articles in refereed journals, and he holds more than 14 US patents.
