Novel pertamanya berjudul Jendela-jendela mengisahkan kehidupan pasangan suami istri dan permasalahan-permasalahan yang muncul didalam rumah-tangganya. Dengan suksesnya novel pertama tersebut, Fira kemudian menulis lanjutan kisah novel Jendela-Jendela dengan meluncurkan novel Pintu yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2002 dan Novel Atap yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2003. Selain itu, novel Biru dan rojak muncul dan menambah koleksi karya sastra yang dihasilkannya. Hampir semua novel-novel yang dihasilkannya mengambil latar tempat di Amerika, Singapura, dan Indonesia karena ia sudah pernah menetap di Negara-negara tersebut sehingga ia dapat mendalami dan mendeskripsikan budaya setempat dengan begitu jelas.

Novel Rojak yang terbit pada tahun 2004 ini mengisahkan seorang perempuan dalam menjalani kehidupan rumah tangga yang penuh dengan cobaan. Novel tersebut menceritakan terjadinya perkawinan campur antara Janice Wong yang merupakan keturunan Cina yang tinggal di Singapura dan Setyo Putra Hadiningrat yang merupakan keturunan Jawa yang tinggal di Yogyakarta. Perpaduan budaya yang ada dalam perkawinan tersebut menjadi topik yang menarik dalam novel ini. Fira Basuki yang juga sebagai penulis perempuan dapat merangkai kata-kata dalam memaparkan penderitaan dan nasib seorang wanita sesuai dengan pengalaman dan sudut pandangnya. Dengan gaya penulisan yang khas dan penuh dengan pengandaian, novel tersebut menjadi novel yang menarik unutk dibaca. Berbekal pengalamannya bekerja dan menetap di luar negeri, seperti Amerika dan Singapura, ia dapat menggambarkan latar tempat dan suasana budaya dengan sangat jelas. Dengan suksesnya novel pertama tersebut, Fira kemudian menulis lanjutan kisah novel Jendela-Jendela dengan meluncurkan novel Pintu yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2002 dan Novel Atap yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2003. Selain itu, novel Biru dan rojak muncul dan menambah koleksi karya sastra yang dihasilkannya. Hampir semua novel-novel yang dihasilkannya mengambil latar tempat di Amerika, Singapura, dan Indonesia karena ia sudah pernah menetap di Negara-negara tersebut sehingga ia dapat mendalami dan mendeskripsikan budaya setempat dengan begitu jelas.

Novel Rojak yang terbit pada tahun 2004 ini mengisahkan seorang perempuan dalam menjalani kehidupan rumah tangga yang penuh dengan cobaan. Novel tersebut menceritakan terjadinya perkawinan campur antara Janice Wong yang merupakan keturunan Cina yang tinggal di Singapura dan Setyo Putra Hadiningrat yang merupakan keturunan Jawa yang tinggal di Yogyakarta. Perpaduan budaya yang ada dalam perkawinan tersebut menjadi topik yang menarik dalam novel ini. Fira Basuki yang juga sebagai penulis perempuan dapat merangkai kata-kata dalam memaparkan penderitaan dan nasib seorang wanita sesuai dengan pengalaman dan sudut pandangnya. Dengan gaya penulisan yang khas dan penuh dengan pengandaian, novel tersebut menjadi novel yang menarik unutk dibaca. Berbekal pengalamannya bekerja dan menetap di luar negeri, seperti Amerika dan Singapura, ia dapat menggambarkan latar tempat dan suasana budaya dengan sangat jelas.
